Individuals who live in poverty suffer both mental and physical health problems, they suffer from family and community problems, and it is harder to make a positive contribution to society.
Problem: Opportunities for At-Risk Youth
Data from 2020 shows that black youth are more likely to be arrested than their white counterparts. Discrimination and exclusionary policies lead to barriers to employment for those previously incarcerated or involved with the justice system, which perpetuates poverty.
